Strange dream

I had a weird dream last night that I was in a pushchair coming down Devices road. It was dark and I looked up and saw an odd glowing orange object, floating across the night sky. I pointed it out to my mum and she said it was a flying bomb, it was heading towards the gasworks. We entered a large hall in York road where many people were, dad was holding Jinky our old dog who's been dead since 1991.  People in India are dying of the Chinese virus by the thousands, scenes on the news are terrifying. One guy laid in front of a car so his dad could get in, another hysterical woman got her mother into a hospital but sadly she died. It's getting better here, but we live in hope.

Song of my life

https://open.spotify.com/track/2EUGYW7MBK972Q9qEvyx3N?si=qWqHLBg3Sf6XkGt04fIwcg&utm_source=copy-link  If a song described my life it would sound like the above. Weird as it sounds I often think about the past, even though it was all a long time ago. What a lovely day today, yesterday I had a horrible prolonged headache, I suspect it must be my glasses as my eyesight is has changed. I sat in Elizabeth gardens, I tried to get a McFlurry at McDonald's at the machine is broken and the staff haven't told anyone! Anyway, the ice cream around Elizabeth gardens is much nicer.  Lots of people were out on their picnic blankets, and some kids and even adults were in swimming in the river; I still, keep my distance. I see on the news for India have it bad with covid-19 at the moment, it's worrying because their hospitals are overwhelmed, I hope it doesn't come over here! I've got a new rucksack today, my old one will go to my boy if he wants it. I'm looking forward to g...

Prince Philip was buried at Windsor at 3 pm on Saturday, the papers called the queen lonely. Due to Covid restrictions, only a few people could attend. Mum says when the queen dies, they'll be moved to Westminster abbey. It's the end of an era. Dad saw them in their car when they visited Salisbury, he was by Barkley's bank at the corner of High street when their car turned out into Bridge street into Fisherton street, he wished he had a camera. Mums got her jab at 11.40, funnily enough, I have received a text saying I have one at the same time and place at the city hall? I didn't think my second jab was until May, must be some confusion somewhere. I had an awful stomach ache Saturday evening. I was watching ' first man ' about Neil Armstrong's voyage to the moon in 1969. The shaking in the movie was enough to make me run to the bathroom every 30 mins. Mum's thinks it was the pie I ate for dinner, I think it was the chocolate yoghurt I had afterwards. Als...

Today is I think when the Titanic sank in 1912, funnily enough, I'm reading a book about the Titanic on my kindle. The shops reopened on the 12th of April which is brilliant, I hope we don't go into another lockdown. There is a knitted crochet thing on the post box in the market square. I haven't seen them on the other postboxes, it's supposed to help promote independent shops in Salisbury. Some idiot has already fiddled with the wording, Salisbury smackheads can't leave anything alone. I think it brightens up the city and I wish they would put them on other letterboxes. O I still have to get my camping stuff together for when I go away was Serve On. I'm looking forward to going to Dartmouth, but I'm not looking forward to when I have to wake up in the mornings and the cold inside the tents. We are sleeping on army camp beds and we are staying at Newton abbot and going to Dartmouth during the day.

All flags in town are half-mast today. The radio played sad music yesterday, and all the TV programs messed up. It's the grand national today at 5.15, I'm not really into racing. Looks sunny in Aintree today, dull overcast skies here; will it ever get warm again? There are no covid cases at the hospital which is brilliant, let's hope it keeps up. Update: For the first time in history, a woman has won the grand national. An Irish lady called Rachel Blackmore, where she goes other women will follow!  The horse has done brilliantly as well, he's earned his oats. Buckets of water were tossed over him to cool him down, I'm glad I watched this bit of history unfold. In years to come people will remember this for centuries to come.

Today is a good day because it's my dad's birthday and he's 80 years old, it's also a sad day because early this morning the queen's husband Prince Philip died; he was in his 90s. I cycled through Churchill gardens yesterday evening to Curry's PC World. I picked up a tablet for my dad, took most of the evening to update it etc.  It's been on the news all day about the death of Prince Philip, it's very sad because it's an end of an era; the queen will miss him terribly. I got dad a carrot cake from M and S, they do nice food. One of the games (Millionaire) won't work on the tablet, not without wi-fi; parents don't have WiFi. Probably the last ever house in the Close not to have broadband, a telephone or anything else that's up to date. It's like the dark ages in places, still got 1970s wallpaper. People aren't allowed abroad unless got a special reason, or s second home; the last bit I don't get. Just as well I booked early, a ...

Easter again was very quiet, sunny but cold. This time last year I was sat out in the garden reading my kindle Shen aunt Joan called. I wasn't sure whether I would get a clear picture, but it did work. Dot and Chris were alive then, sadly they are now both gone. I took up a packet of 9 mini hot cross buns, they have loads in M  & S, usually aunt Joan would come down on a Good Friday but this year they are still not allowed near us. I met up with you in the back garden and we watered some of Dot's plants, cleared some of her pots. Need to brush the shelves off as they're covered in dirt, but it can wait until another finer day. There was a broadcast today. Boris Johnson says if everyone social distances, shops and other things can start opening on the 12th of this month. I can guarantee that there will be long queues for the hairdressers, they are already open in Scotland. We've been watching a lot of questions with my parents, my dad likes an actor called Randolph ...
