Saturday 10th April 2021.

All flags in town are half-mast today. The radio played sad music yesterday, and all the TV programs messed up.

It's the grand national today at 5.15, I'm not really into racing. Looks sunny in Aintree today, dull overcast skies here; will it ever get warm again?

There are no covid cases at the hospital which is brilliant, let's hope it keeps up.

Update:

For the first time in history, a woman has won the grand national. An Irish lady called Rachel Blackmore, where she goes other women will follow!

The horse has done brilliantly as well, he's earned his oats. Buckets of water were tossed over him to cool him down, I'm glad I watched this bit of history unfold.

In years to come people will remember this for centuries to come.
