I opened the curtains this morning and saw a strange bird flying over from the direction of the zoo, it was black with a white underbelly and I'm sure it wasn't a magpie. Some starlings have nested above a door just down the road, I think they are now gone, but I could see them sticking their heads out waiting for food.
Went to Terence gardens on Sunday, the weather was sunny Terence reminds me of Victoria Park.
I thought I would try Trice House on Monday, it's a National Trust property it's just outside Newquay. The taxi was about £10, I waited on a chair inside Jackie's porch until It came. The house is from the 16th century and was owned by the Arendelle family who was friends of King Henry 8th. It's an impressive house with even more impressive gardens, I sat in the meadow where they have carved out a maze. I could have sat there all day it was that peaceful. I heard the kiddie's steam railway in the distance, also sometimes I could see jet trails from the planes in the sky going towards Heathrow or JFK airport. I was a bit naughty and had a cream tea, a Robin was flying about so I left him my crumbs.
I got a taxi back, I got a bit worried in case it didn't turn up. last year I walked Porth beach in the dark after having dinner at the Mermaid, this was in September. I remember passing some people who had a circle of candles lit on the beach.
I went to Truro on Tuesday, it was a bit breezy. I stopped at Santanda to check my bank balance, seems my PIP has already gone in so I shall be very careful as I don't get paid again until the Tuesday after the 21st. I have to keep backtracking when writing this to correct all my terrible grammatic errors, perhaps I type too fast.
I went around the Cornwall museum for free as I paid last year and they give you a free pass for your next entry, dunno how long that's going to last with all the prices going up. There are many shops at Truro including a bike shop where I got a bell for my Claud Butler ladies bike, I hope I can get it all back again.
I've always liked the sea and I am going to find it hard to leave on the 21st, I still intend to move to Devon after my parents have gone. I shall miss them dearly but there will be nothing left for me in Salisbury, even Alan will be on his own now Liz has gone,
I went to the cafe by the market but it was shut so I decided to get the bus home, it takes about an hour to get to Truro and back, I like to do other things but I think it's the buses which are the trouble. Everything seems to be geared towards people with cars, what about people who don't drive?
I went to Falmouth yesterday, I also have free entry into the Maritime museum, but I really would like to do Tralisk gardens but the bus didn't get there until midday!
I went to Dolly's tea rooms, they have a lovely springer spaniel. They get donated crockery from people, I want to donate my grandmothers to a museum. We have two teasets, one is black with gold-rimmed edges. dad got it from Woolworth's when great aunt Kitt died. I wish I got to know her better, she used to visit mum at Clifton Road. I could have learnt so much about dad's side of the family, but mum said there was a lot she didn't mention; guess I'll never know now.
I went to Padstow today and hired a bike, what a lovely bike it was. Padstow bike hire all have Dawes now, mine was a ladies. As I left this morning, I wondered if I had done the right thing by wearing shorts and a fleecy waistcoat, Sky was grey and blustery.
There's a lot of people from Yorkshire in Cornwall, they are nice people. I rode to Wadebridge and parked up, I cycle like the clappers when I get going. Went to Mad Hatters cafe, lots of children in there, I've now discovered another place called the old tearooms I'll go to next year; I am determined to return even if Jackie's not doing it anymore.
I love the bus route to Padstow it's so scenic. I noticed a poster on the side of a barn saying 'the party's over now priminister' I reckon it is.
The sun shining through the glass was very hot as I was sitting in front of the bus. I got off at Porth, breezy or what! The beach was almost deserted, took my sandals off and the sand wasn't too cold. I keep meaning to spend Sunday afternoon on Porth, I'll come down for the last week of June, the first week of July next time.
Popped into 2 hotels that are going to be demolished at some point, I hope they take photos before they are gone.
