Today I believe it's the anniversary of the D-Day landings in France in 1944, I expect everywhere around Calais is fully booked. But what a busy weekend it's been for the queen's platinum jubilee, 70 years on the throne.
It's officially started on Wednesday of last week. I had just finished my writing class at the museum, we did drawings of dresses in the fashion dept which is upstairs.
I walked to SP2 cafe with another girl, I was going to drop my bag off first. I had my camera with me and it was sunny, I didn't want to be weighed down. The city was heaving, especially by St High Street gate. People were racing to go to the station to get down to London for the celebrations.
We ordered crown chicken in SP2 cafe and Kim had some brilliant music playing. The queen wants us all to come together and this will be her last Jubilee, as she's in her 90s.
There's bunting everywhere in shop windows and people's homes, even our neighbours have put flags on the railings.
Thursday there was no walk so I went to SP2, the TV was on highlighting the celebrations in London. There was a cream tea in Stratford, but I didn't go as I thought I'd be intruding.
I see Boris Johnson got booed by the crowd as he arrived for the jubilee lunch. A few idiots cheered, but those who did were drowned out by the booing.
Craig and Kim were sent to Scotland to do a wedding, SP2 is closed tomorrow and they'll be knackered.
I cycled over to the village of Lower Bemerton on Friday. Their jubilee party was on the green in front of St John's community church. I haven't been there for years, the weather was sunny.
I wasn't very impressed at first, it was very big so it wouldn't take me long to take pictures. Counsellor Margaret Wilmot was there, I used to cycle with her in COGS.
Caroline Corbin and her partner turned up, her husband is now mayor. They are a nice couple, Phill Harding from Time Team was there. He's representing the Queen in Wiltshire, I don't mind him.
They had a cake in the shape of a crown which was being raffled off and looked too nice to eat. There was also a book store, but I read on my Kindle now.
I met Jenny and Kez, we had a burger. Sometimes I worry I'm being a nuisance, and people will think I'm weird. I didn't stay long after I left, I went up to my parents. I later heard that they had a fate in Britford I could have gone to.
Saturday the George mall had a street party in Infront of M&S, there was a guy dressed up as a tower yeoman. Jodie was there painting faces, she is amazing.
Wandered round to a house in Cathedral Close, 56B. I saw Helen Dowse who was collecting donations for entry, she is the carers people's champion and a nice lady.
I paid £5 because it's all going towards the Ukrain hub, a good cause. The grounds are lovely, 3 altogether; one is a rose garden with rabbit sculptures.
That crown cake from Friday was doing the rounds, no one won it Friday then? We had a brief shower, one guy said I came prepared when I put my pink brolly up.
The Crafty Girls had a stall, they display their knotted things in the window of the Dewalders stamp shop in town.
Saw Caroline and Tom again. The children were making crowns in the garden. I watched a documentary about the crown jewels, it was amazing.
Apparently for coronation crown is only worn once, it's highly decorated with rubies and priceless stones, including the Cullinan II diamond. When it turns it's so colourful, that the light makes it look like 1000 fireworks are going off. The crown weighs a ton
Sunday (yesterday) I went to Harlequins social club, the weather wasn't as nice as Saturday. I took a brolly as it was forecast to rain.
I spent the night up parents. I was about to drop off when the neighbor's cat decided to have a slanging match with the cat from number 14. Went on for 20 bloody minutes! I looked out the window as I thought one of them was hurt, I couldn't see anything as it was too dark.
I got to Harlequins and went to the wrong room, they were setting up a disco. I found the right room, Jenny was putting out tablecloths, wasn't sure what I was going to photograph at first.
A bit chilly in the garden, they'd set a bouncy castle up; let's have a bouncy tent next. Photoed Jody doing face painting, and the raffle. Someone from Wiltshire sound came to interview Jenny, I photoed them all in the garden at his request.
I wasn't sure if his tablet worked, hopefully, it did.
I will be long forgotten, but my photos will live on.
Walked back to my parents for tea. It was lashing down with rain when I left. There was supposed to have been a concert in the market square until 9 pm. But it was rained off, stupid British weather.
