I'm sitting next to my living room window looking out. I'm listening to Dances with Wolves, this was one of my dad's favourite movies. It still brings a tear to my eye, we went to the Odeon to see it. Mum didn't go for some reason, can't remember why.

The Odeon in The Canal (
so called because ditches once ran down the sides) is a 14th century building,  maybe earlier. Once belonged a Sheep merchant called John Hall who fought on the loosing side at The War of the Roses.

The first ever movie I saw there was Bambi, then Ghostbusters. Also saw Titanic, it was bloody cold because the antique heating system had broken down.

There are guided tours round the Odeon, also supposed to be haunted.  During the 1980's it was ran by a man called Graham Dilks who always replied to letters written in the journal criticizing it, the original name for it was called Gaumont Palace Theatre during the war.  My grandmother mentions going with a neighbour to see 'how green is my valley'.
