Another hot day (31), I was talking to Mum at her house. I heard this weird alarm sound, thought it was Mum's at first, and realised it was my phone.

It was a government warning about wildfires and to be careful.
There's also a weird burning smell being detected over Bemerton Heath. Been mentioned on Facebook: another fire near Westbury.

Stupid TikTok now has this challenge where they are telling people to light fires and then take a picture of it! How stupid is this? Not content with butchering trees, they're now encouraging arson!

Went to Weymouth yesterday; it was packed. I found a lovely cafe called Waffallicious. The pancakes aren't as thick as Charlie's, but they are nice. 

Returned at 6.15, or supposed to. There was a derailment at about 2.20 in the town of Lewis in East Sussex. 

Apparently the railway line had buckled in the heat, causing the train to derail and flip over. 

Luckily I got back ok, its now getting dark, about 9.00. Lots of thirsty people in Weatherspoons. Lots of passengers from London on board, £80 apparently from there.

My aunt's tower fan has gone wrong; this isn't good, as all the fans have sold out in the shops all over the UK, and it's even impossible to get one online. Amazon isn't posting until September!

I hope mine are ok.

Climate change is being seen in Antarctica,  it's been on the news that glaciers are collapsing; yet idiots still deny its happening! There's a ship out there called The David Attenborough, they've nicknamed it ' Macboaty Macboatface ' daft name I think. Donald Trump has riots in Las Angeles, when he brought in martial law against immigration.  He's due to visit England soon; God help us. I didn't go to U3A in Harnham, I was waiting for the bus, and I saw Yvonne and her dog. He's so cute, but he getting older. I had 6 minutes left, but I ran back to mums house to use the loo. I hate it when it suddenly comes on. I am having my ear done tomorrow in Queen Street. Damp things blocks up again after a week. Friday 18th July 2025

I looked at my dad's journal today. He started it in 1968 when he married mum, he describes a lost world of places that no longer exists. In it he's written an inventory of things he bought from Teignmouth and Rugby. I will make a separate blog of it so it's not lost, I will describe what each item is and what it did. I was sad when he described the loss of Jinky our dog, I know Jinky meant a lot to him; they are both together in Heaven now.  I noticed  how excited dad got when he and mum got their first colour tv. You have to remember that a lot of homes in those days had black and white tv's, colour only existed in hotels and guest houses. I know dad got upset when his bike was stolen, mine was pinched too from the shed at Sanctuary. Have a solar motion light over the door now. I got my work cut out now trying to save all this, and I will.

  When I lived at Clifton Road with my parents in Salisbury, I did a bit of reasearch on the building lately and discovered the propert was built in 1901.  This must have been standing when the Titanic left for Ireland and it's final destination, I wonder what the rooms must have looked like then in 1912? My bedroom was at the back of the house and had a boarded up fireplace with only the blue mantlepiece visable, I also had Disney's alley cat wall paper which I naughtily sometimes wrote on.  At the end of our back garden was a red brick wall with a glased over window covered by a grid, I never knew what it's purpose was.  The building behind it must of had a fire because I remember the rafters were exposed to the elements, pidgeons used to land on the rafters while watching our house.  It was there when we moved in 1981, but that was the last I saw of it, because it was pulled down later.
