I think this date is round about the time the Titanic sank. It's now over 100 years ago, but it's still fresh in people's minds. Me and mum did are first trip with Great Days out, April 9th. This would have been dad's birthday, but we didn't want to mope around the house feeling sad. We went to Street Clarks shopping village. Went via Wishford village, I hadn't realized how scenic it was. The lambing season is in full swing, and the rape seed is showing.  The weather was glorious, has been until today. Now got grey skies, and the airs gone chilly again.  What funny British weather we have.

Life is changing all the time, things are happening overnight. There's E-scooters in Bournemouth and Southampton,  people just power it via an app on their phones and away they go.   Me and Annamaria went on a Titanic tour in Southampton on Saturday. Weather was muggy, the X3 now stops outside the station.  The train was packed full of holiday makers all going to Portsmouth and Southampton.  Apparently there's a deal on one of the cruise ships to go to France for the weekend for £350, have to check that out. There were 5 cruise liners in, one was The Princess of the Seas, the other a P&O with the union Jack on the bow and a star. These boats are enormous today compared to the days of the Titanic.  We got a taxi to the pub called The Platform Inn, where some of the Titanic crew drank and stayed before that fateful voyage in 1912. Inside the smell of hops was strong, also dark. The tour guide was in red with matching hat, bit windy outside. The IOW ferry ...

What fun on the scooter convoy in  Salisbury. We left at 11.00 and went through the Maltings, me at a slooow pace. The drop kerbs were interesting, and the blasted metal barriers in the subway... Went along Ivy Street and had an argument with a lamp post! I'm laughing now, but what a wally I was. We stopped at St Martins which is older then the cathedral believe it or not. The idea of stained glass comes from France.  My grandparents got married here in 1939, March I think.  Seems strange they were here, i really would like to know more about them. I now appreciate people more in mobility scooters, but I'm determined to get used to them.

Weather has been glorious up until today, I came on the bus and it was packed. Some of the kids were from St Joseph's. I got off by the post office ship, the sky was black over towards Tournament road; I thought I heard planes in the sky.  I thought at first it was the guns on Salisbury Plain, or that Sky Dive plane that kicks mad parachutists out at 10000ft. I recognized it was thunder, the sun was out, but there was a deep rumbling coming from within the cloud. I watched it from the back door, coming from Old Sarum and heading towards Weymouth way.  Mum came down stairs, but she said she couldn't hear anything.  Garden needs mowing, I'll call Damien. Mum wants to call the Spreadbury guy, but I think he takes advantage; he raises the price every time he calls.  Have mobility scooter convoy tomorrow,  hope I don't crash.

I went to thirsty Thursday at the Mill pub in Harnham, sat in the back garden. Been packing teapots all afternoon, sold four on E-bay. Huge fire at hanger 3 at Sarum airfield, started at 6.30pm. I saw the plume of smoke as I was coming along town path, also a burning smell in town center like a faint bonfire.  Apparently the smoke could be seen as far as Wilton and Durrington! That means people could probably see it from Stonehenge. Fire-crews from Salisbury,  Hampshire, IOW, Amesbury and Ringwood all raced to the scene. Hanger 3 was a cafĂ© I'd been into, the poor owners must be doing their nuts as they were going to refurbish the place.  People were told to shut doors and windows because of the asbestos, which makes it more horrifying. Crowds were standing round watching, hope they didn't breath it in! Bit of suspicion as developers want to put houses on the airfield, hope it's not arson.  i don't agree with the developers wanting to put houses by the airfield, the ...

Posted first payment for when me and mum go away. Busy at post office, a new Harry Potter themed shop has opened in High Street. There's an owl ( not real ) in the window and swords. Knowing our stuffy council & the reputation of Warner bros, it won't stay open long. Sometimes when I look out the landing window of my parents into the darkness. I can see all the lights of the houses nearby, there's a flashing chain of colourful lights on the hill. You can get them in Robert Dyas, I wouldn't mind some. Look towards the city and there's a white glow against the night sky, once orange from all the sodium lights in the city; its now white. Mum once told me her and dad used to stand at the top of Devizes road overlooking  Stratford valley, and the streetlights  used to blink on one by one. Sodium was the lighting used during, and before the war. I've often wondered what it was like during my grandads lifetime, and during the blackout. Gran would of had to hang up ...

Today is the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Most of that generation have gone now, only elderly people who were children at the time are still alive. I awoke at 6.15 this morning with another headache, about 6.30 I heard the distant boom of thunder as I was getting back into bed. I hate thunder as it frightens me, mum said there was another clap of thunder at 7.30 which thankfully I didn't hear.  The rain was heavy last night, it drowned out my ambient music. I heard the rain hitting the window, and the wind in the trees in the park is loud.   California could do with rain with all the fires they've been having. I think Mel Gibson's house went up in flames, another guy tried to fight it; his remains were found still holding a hose. Went to the Guildhall for the first memorial, had thunder about 11am the pavements were wet as we left. The second memorial was at at Paul's. Annmarie doesn't like me talking to my friends, and got funny with me which re...
