This is the first Easter I have spent on my own without family, it feels rather lonely. Lovely sunny day today, so I sat in the garden on my pillow with my kindle. I had a parasol with a clip on but it doesn't fit the bench as it's too big so I had to hold it with knee's. Aunt Joan called me on a video link through 'Whats app', a lot of video software is being downloaded because of the lock-down. I was surprised the WIFI lasted, as it usually shorts out and refuses to re-connect. Aunt Joan looks like gran, gran had black hair, but then I always thought mum looked like gran, she lived in South newton village when the Spanish flu was on, I don't know about grandad.
I saw the police helicopter hovering over several times to make sure no one was in Elizabeth gardens or Greencroft park, they will report if they see anything or anyone who shouldn't be out. But apparently I've heard it was called out because gunshots had also been reported in the Harnham/Whaddon area's! Apparently some man went missing in Laverstock, but he was found shortly. I heard a helicopter again at 8.50pm while watching TV that evening, this was to do with the gunshots, and the search light was seen to be used.
I went for a walk around Cathedral Close, saw a security guy move some people who were laying on the artwork near the walking maddonna, looks like a blue flying saucer which has landed on the grass I think the artist will not be happy with scratches all over it. there are other artworks dotted around including some glass stairs (stairway to heaven) and some weird white female figure with a hole in her guts, they can find money for that but not for mending the pavements which trip people up.
This lock down is becoming tediouse but I understand why it must be done, becoming the evryday way of life now.
