Some things have certainly happened today, I charged my bike lights up last night, front light works at the back light won't come on at all; looks like I may have to go round Stonehenge cycles to buy a new light.
I cycled to the range today and as I was passing through Churchill gardens, I came across Claire Hacker who works at riding for the disabled in Salisbury. she is one of the managers and is a really nice lady, well she has to be to put up with something like me.
She told me that Pat Burgess the original manager at the RDA passed away a couple of days ago. This is really sad because when I first joined the RDA, I was very shy and she was very kind to me. It's the end of an era really and we will all miss her.
The RDA is owned by lord Pembroke and is just outside the town of Wilton. I won't call it a village, it probably was once. They say Wilton it supposed to be olfer then Salisbury believe it or not.
I have been told that lord Pembroke is the cousin of the Queen, their name is Herbert and they live in a big house called Wilton House. Wilton House has seen a lot of history, apparently Winston Churchill Eisenhower and other big cheeses went there to discuss the D-Day landings.
I'm hoping to secretly put up some Christmas decorations, mum doesn't want me to but it's tough because I'm going to still do it anyway. We need a bit of Christmas cheer anyway, we usually go up aunt Joan's in Rugby, but because of the pandemic we can't this year.
I certainly won't miss that rickety bed that she has in the spare room, you're supposed to change the mattress every 8 years; the mattresses over 20-years old almost. Because the springs twang every time I turn, it keeps me awake at night.
Sometimes aunt Joan puts her washing machine on, the only problem is is it Alans old machine, and it rattles like b******. the kitchen is right underneath the bedroom where I sleep.
Also the bed has been placed next to the outside wall just underneath the window, so on frosty nights I can feel the cold seeping in through the wall; it's like sleeping next to a fridge.
I had to cycle back from big Tesco's with my front light working, but my backlight wouldn't switch on. I've now got the backlight charging in the kitchen, if it still doesn't work when it looks like I need a new light; More damned expense.
A lot more elderly people are packing into the hospitals at the moment due to the pandemic, it's really frightening.
The children in need programme had a virtual audience this year, I like children in need it's a really good cause.
it was lovely to see sunshine again this morning, it's not supposed to be very nice tomorrow.
