A lot has happened since I last wrote. Mum rang me up last Wednesday morning to say dad had fallen out of bed about 11.15 pm, and she wasn't strong enough to lift him. So she called the 111 services who were completely useless as she couldn't hear the options. Rang 999 in the end, the first ambulance didn't come, but another came at 8 am. It was raining when they took him to A&E.

I came over to mums and rang A&E. They've transferred him to the Redlynce ward.

I rang up on Friday to see how he was. Someone picked up the phone and put it down on me, which I wasn't very happy about. I tried the switchboard who tried another line. I got through to a foreign-sounding nurse, I asked how he was. She didn't know who he was and said she couldn't help me. I said well can I speak to someone who does know, and she said, no it was only her I could speak to! She eventually did find his details.

I was told he was on oxygen with low blood pressure. I said he's not on the covid ward, is he? And she abruptly told me, 'yes he does have covid-19'. I said that's news to me and she said he had a test which came back positive. It was a bit tricky trying to understand what she was saying. So they wouldn't have phoned me to tell me because the NHS is overstretched and far too busy; mum couldn't hear anyway. I rang up the PALES office to find out what was going on.

A Dr Johnson rang me 30 mins later.  They keep telling me he's ok, but that could change. I'm staying positive, even though they have a negative outlook. Nikky from Safe Haven, her aunt has also contracted Covid. The stupid Chinese virus is causing havoc everywhere! 😡

Had to get the electrical guy out yesterday as the lights went out when mum turned the porch light off. Turned out the switch had flipped, happens on mine. Gemma from Next door came round asking if we needed any shopping, we politely declined.

Snowed this morning, met office said it would. Dad rang this morning but the phone cut off, apparently you only get a few minutes, sounds well. I rang the ward; will take a bag up to him Monday to the PALES office.
