Dad has dropped his tablet yesterday so I went around the phone shop in Catherine street to see if I could get it repaired, the people there said the engineers wouldn't be there until Tuesday, and they would only charge silly money for it anyway. I only brought him the tablet in April and he's busted it already, screen won't turn on although it's making internet connecting noises.
I had to go after dinner, dad's been watching the Glorious Goodwood racing which is a bit boring. I saw Sam at the bus stop, she's part of haven. I wore my walking trousers today, could have worn my shorts I suppose. I went to the field in Harnham village as they had put on a fun day and as a WI we wanted to show that we are still around. I'm proud to be a member of the WI, young people can join too.
The weather was a bit hit and miss, I brought my brolly but nothing happened, Josie, another WI member was making tea's in the hall, I saw lots of dogs at the show; they should have a dog show. This is the first time in the months that people have been able to gather together, there's a Christian Aid fate next week but I don't think I'll go.
I think about the past quite a lot lately, about Clifton Road, the smell of the gas works and the people I used to know. It was a different world then, mum said years ago you could leave your door unlocked and people looked out for each other. Today people are so wrapped up in their own lives that they couldn't give a damn about each other, people will just stand and stare while someone gets beaten up. The 'none of my business attitude' prevails anywhere. Even if a person faints and fall's on the floor, no one will help them; in London, they will just step over you as though you are inconveniently in the way!
No one look's out for each other anymore, it's their ass they care about; those days are long gone.
