The last bank holiday of the year went well. Saturday saw me helping Serve on with the super fate and car boot held in a field just outside of Amesbury, the weather was a bit grey in the morning but it brightened up shortly. We got the tent up and the burro on (that's the urn for hot drinks) running. The dogging team came along as did many other vendors and forms of entertainment, the show opened at 11.00 but I crawled out of bed at 7 am!
I hate getting up early I'm like a zombie. My neighbour has purchased a couple of solar birdhouses which are supposed to glow in the dark, I haven't noticed anything glowing as yet.
Barry kindly gave me a lift, we followed a satnav for a while until it got on our nerves. Mick, Sam and Ed were there when we pulled up, it didn't take long to get the tent up. I see that Johnathon the jester was there, he's a nice guy that does circus things. I think because of my autistic way's he probably thinks I'm a bit on the weird side, I wouldn't blame him.
My job today was to take photo's of things going on, who's going to like my weird shots after I've gone?
I didn't see much at the car booty, put my mask on as not many people had theirs on, and any one of them could have it. I know it mist's up my glasses but I'd rather prefer that than having an illness that could kill me.
Infect I complained about the porta loo's because they had plenty of bog roll, but no hand sanitiser, this is what maybe happened at Board masters when they had their final music party. No one in the audience was masked, so they tested positive for the virus.
Ate a bacon sarnie before the show opened, lot's of other dogs roaming about because they had a dog show. Our dogs did a display at 3.00, so I hope the image's I took are ok.
I stopped at got 6 cakes for our gang including Barry who kindly gave me a lift. I have a lot of respect for Serve On, they have taught me a lot and I'd be devastated if they folded. I've since learnt that En-train in Wilton wants us out so, we have to find another home or I'll have to find a way of getting to Chilmark which is out on the sticks.
The Red Devil's did a parachute display which was good the Bournemouth Air show is on Thursday, but it'll be very busy which is a shame as I'd like to go but I daren't this year because of the stupid Covid which is trying to rear it's ugly head again!
The show finished at 4 pm, but I didn't get home until six as we have to put everything away.
It's good to write everything down while it's fresh in my mind, I only wish I'd had the sense to do it when gran was alive, the things I could have asked her.
I'm very anxious about going to Newquay, but I can't back out now. My suitcase reminds me of what or could happen, just hope I'm not careless.
The last British troops evacuating people from Afghanistan left 2 days ago, the very last American plane left today. Many people I'm afraid, have sadly left behind to face the wrath of the Taliban.
Already there has been news of terrible atrocities happening, like when the Taliban executed a famous Afghanistani comedian for daring to mock the regime. So they shot the poor man.
The duck race.
Today Serve On helped with the Amesbury duck race, not so warm I am wondering if the shorts weather conditions are coming to an end.
