Today is a wet grey changeable day, yesterday was awesome like the Med. I went to Padstow yesterday on an open-top bus called the coaster, I went to the office of the bus station to ask about the timings. The lady behind the desk is new and said the bus was not here for another hour which I found frustrating, then it rolled into the forecourt! I asked the driver and he said what she told me was wrong, it was because it was not their bus company, but a company called First; theirs is called buses for Cornwall I think.
Decided to dress in pink because it's my favourite colour, the open-top bus whizzed through the countryside of which we don't see the like of anymore in the UK, apart from maybe Wales and Scotland. here the houses are made out of flint and stone, not the usual brick people see in the rest of the UK. Some of the gardens are very nice and spacious, one house has a scythe hung up above the door; home of the apocalypse?
I notice a lot of houses have clapboard on their walls, this is a usuel sight in the states.
One woman wouldn't let anyone sit next to her as she is a cancer survivor, very nice lady told me the times of the returning buses. Swung down into the harbour, the driver said he didn't know what time the buses were coming back; so I aimed to be back at 4 pm.
I found another solar dancer in the shape of a nurse, I collect these little figurines and can't remember if I have her already. These are models of different things ranging from flowers, athletes, dogs and cats you name it. Underneath them is a little solar panel and when the sun shines on it, the figures sway from side to side; I'm hoping these will be collectors things one day.
I've always like Padstow but my parents are not here this year and I doubt if they will come again as mum now has to look after dad and she says it's too much for her to pack with all his water bags etc. It was good then because we were together as a family sharing things, now I'm on my own it feels a little strange; something I'll have to get used to.
Went to our usual cafe called Greengage's but they are short of staff due to the Pingdemic and are only doing drinks and nibbles. So I went round to another cafe and picked up a cream tea with Hartley's jam, I have two pots in my cupboard.
Walked up to the Celtic cross at the top of the hill, very windy up there I took my hat off before it got blown off. The ferry to Rock was going backwards and forth, there's not a lot on Rock apart from a few pubs and posh houses. This is supposedly the last hot day, who needs Lanzarote when you have this.
It's very peaceful looking over the estuary out towards the sea. It's my usual sitting place by the gate on top the stone, got lots of graffiti, carved into the stone slate.
Got a milkshake instead of ice cream, had a raspberry ripple one. The pingdemic is affecting a lot of businesses with whole companies being pinged on the NHS app, so they have to go into isolation even if the test result is negative. Now we have all these refugees coming in the rate could go up again.
Got a covered bus back because the driver said the open-top buses kept breaking down, then on the way back we saw one go past; we could have got on that.
Monday I went on the land train to Trenence gardens, the commentator said that Trenence cottages were open, but they were closed as they are not open on a Monday! The rose garden is coming to the end of its time, I'm aiming to come up next May of next year when things are not too complicated. It's tricky to get anywhere on us in Cornwall at the moment.
Went to the tennis court cafe, it's ok but I wouldn't go again given a choice. I had some chicken korma sandwiches and orange juice, I'm going through orange juice like a dose of Salts.
Today was wet and horrible. I got a pink brolly from the factory shop since I borrowed a black one from Jackie I'll leave the pink one to her. Went to the aquarium, lots of parents there with their toddlers, they probably wondered who the freak in the pink was. Took loads of shots with my camera phone, I've probably taken too many now for my photo book. Some of the images are blurred so I've deleted those. It stopped raining when I left but the line of people waiting to go in was even longer.
The plan was to visit the zoo afterwards but It was pissing it down and I got charged £14.99 for an hour! I came on the land train for £5 which was kind of him, should have gone somewhere else but it was raining, going to Falmouth tomorrow so I'll pay myself back. Went to Bunters cafe and had macaroni cheese, they probably think I'm an idiot with my quirky way's. I got chatting to a bloke with autism who works in a charity shop, I'm never doing retail again as it's a mug's game.
There's still too much stigma connected to autism, I knew straight away he could be autistic, some people think we should be locked away and hidden out of sight and forgotten. The only thing that embarrasses me is my rubber tyre around my middle, I need to go on a diet I didn't realise how fat I was until I looked into the mirror.
I like coming here but I think I've chosen the wrong time, I hear Easter is nice but it could be very busy. Life won't be the same as it was now that we have to wear mask's all the time. Makes my face hot and, it's the normal way of life in China and now we have to live life like it. The virus is here to stay, so babies in hospitals just born could catch it and our elderly, including the disabled. Nothing is safe anymore.
