Wednesday 15th December 2021.
Another bright star is in the sky, gone to join the angels. Much loved Comedian Jethro died yesterday of COVID complications, the Chinese virus has claimed another victim.
I remember I saw him live at the City Hall many years ago with Lifestyles, I can't believe he's gone. Now he'll be entertaining people in spirit, we'll never see his like again; not on the earth plain anyway.
I went to Victoria Park yesterday to a Carers lunch, it was all vegetarian but very nice. We had green soup followed by vegetarian Wellington. The dessert was apple pie with clotted cream, also had Minch pies which I can't have.
We had a lady playing carols on a piano, when they asked for a request, I suggested if there were any shanty like type carols. We had a good laugh singing one to the tune of, what shall we do with the drunken sailor.
We used to sing sea shanty type songs all the time in Teignmouth, must be lovely there now.
It's amazing what the Pantry club have done with the old bowls club, they have the old lawn which would be ideal for outside events.
Cycled over to Harnham for a WI event that evening. We had a quiz, if I'd known I would have brought my glasses. Because I hadn't, I kept putting all the answers into the wrong box.
We each got a present before we left, but I accidentally stood on it this morning so sadly I've ruined it before I even opened it. Fate doesn't want me to have nice things, so it wrenches it away from me. That upset me I've lost out yet again
Saw Mikey in Wilton, he's a physiotherapist. I might do aquafit in January at the hospital. Went to Cafe Darling for the last time, had a bit of cake and tea. All their cakes are homemade, they also have a gorgeous dog.
There was another broadcast tonight on channel 5 at 5 p.m. The prime minister's urging people to get their booster quickly, and they brought the waiting time forward.
Got a walking group tomorrow and lunch at Sarum college which is £15, have to do a flow test first.
