Bit of a grey start, I always put my hand out of the window to see how breezy it is. The couple from Southend in London have gone home today, they did the Lost Gardens of Heligan on the bus which is what I'd like to do
I went to the new wave church this morning, had a latte. Seems like a nice church, they used to have a glow in the dark crucifix but it's gone now replaced by a large wooden one in the garden.
I caught the no 24 bus to Charleston, never been before so I thought it would make a change. Took an hour to get to St Austell, and went through lots of villages.
I found the shipwreck museum down the road. It's got s interesting exhibition of Frank Hurley's photos of the 1910 expedition to Antarctica. Frank Hurley was Shackleton's photographer, I like photography but I don't do cold situations.
It was very interesting, there were also bits from the Lusitania, Mary Rose and Titanic. I was a bit stressed as Time was getting on, this is only a fraction from the Mary Rose. The larger parts of it are in Portsmouth where she sank in the Solent.
Charleston Harbour is where they filmed Poldark, the beach is shingly and it's very touristy since Poldark. Walked along the harbour, lots of doves flying about, wonder what bits you'd get if a dove bred with a pigeon. A doveian?
I got the bus back and stood on the wrong side of the road with some people. The bus came and I flagged it down and told the driver other people were waiting.
Some houses had an end of Falklands war flag hung above the door. I know someone who was in that conflict, all wars are terrible.
Been a Fine evening, supposed to be wet tomorrow I hope not. Sat on the green eating a Sarni, couldn't be bothered to walk to the harbour. Gave crumbs to a starling who flew off to a nest up in the gutter of the flats. Then the gulls noticed, soon it'll be like something out of Alfred Hitchcock 'the birds'.
A lady went past in a power chair playing loud music, saw her go up the hill back towards the Great Western hotel.
A lot of people out on the razz tonight, stag/hen nights tomorrow.
