I was thinking that the 1920s was my gran's era, Salisbury was a much different place then.

Lots of shops existed now that are no longer here. Ingrams the saddlers has gone, I remember seeing saddles in the window and Thewell merchandise. Loved going in there, the smell of the leather handbags and luggage. The horse gear was upstairs, hats etc.

Now it's just empty and bare, although the old brass sign still hangs over the door.

The infirmary was still in Fisherton Street in gran's time. I scanned a news article today from 1950, about a elderly woman who didn't want to be moved to the workhouse. She was told that they didn't exist anymore.

They were terrible places where families went to as a last resort, often separated a lot of heartbreaking stories I heard. One lady they didn't tell her husband had died, when she asked about him, she was told he'd been buried the week before!

Church House in Crane Street was a workhouse, its a private residential property supposedly haunted. There's a old workhouse at Wilton.

Been another shooting at a school in Nashville, don't they secure their schools safely?

Also my right ear is blocked, so I'm seeing a Dr Thursday at Three Swans in Rollostone Street.
