I went to Porth beach on my last day, it was lovely and hot. I got the bus to the stop just up from the Mermaid pub, i had to quickly use the bathroom first (betcha you really wanted to know that didn't you?) The slipway from the old Lifeboat station on Newquay faces the beach, it's no longer used.
I went to Tintagel on the Bude bus, it takes 3 hrs to get to Bude! Tintagel is one long street with many shops, I decided to seek Tintagel Castle hotel out because of my mobility problems I didn't want to do the castle; but the hotel overlooks it. Passed two lovely mares in their field, one of them was dapple gray; I don't know if they appreciated the lovely view from their field of the ocean.
It was very windy so I had to be careful my hat didn't blow off, just as well I shaved my armpits.
I have my PIP review on Wednesday and it's been hanging a dark shadow over my visit, this could be my last holiday so I'm doing as much as i can. My friends PIP has been reduced a lot so she's fighting it on her own, how can one woman take on a big organization like that without help?
To be honest I think the DWP are corrupt and strip disabled people of their money. They are entitled to forcing them into poverty and using food banks.
My aunt wasn't very sympathetic and said i'll have to tighten my belt if they stop my money, she doesn't know what it's like to be on benefits as she's never been on them! I will have to give up a lot of things if they reduce or even stop mine, last time in 2019 I was given 10 points by the assessor who didn't give me anything for my mobility!
Then some stranger who I'd never ever met gave me 0 points which was very unfair, these idiots don't care about disabled people their just trying to save money!
I went to Port Isaac, doubt if I will go there again. People went there because Doc Martin was filmed there and they liked to see for themselves. As one driver told me he didn't understand the attraction as Doc Martin is done & dusted.
It was very hilly and I had to wait an hour for the bus, it's also known as a 'dead zone' as unless you have an EE network no other mobile company will work. The Drive through the narrow lanes was hairy, one driver told me he'd had an accident with a tractor on a bend!
On the morning of my departure that nice family from Manchester were leaving too. So I followed them to the station as they were getting off at Newton Abbot too, I can't lift heavy weights due to my back. I caught the Teignmouth train from Platform one, it was raining when I got off.
A man and his wife kindly helped me carry my case up the stairs to the other side, Teignmouth station isn't really disabled friendly. I waited for the rain to pass then made my way to the Seaway guest house, Barbara and her husband are really nice people, they have a lovely Spaniel called Hastings; not sure if he's a cocker or not.
I went to Dawlish on the bus, and the lovely sunshine came out. There's a café called Seabreeze which is very nice, apart from the chips which gave me the shits; never again.
I must get some walking poles as I have ostio-arthritis in my right hip which is painful.
