Me & the Corona virus in Salisbury

Yesterday was the coronation of King Charles 3rd, the weather as always was wet and awful.  The BBC news kicked off at 6pm on Friday, they are keen. Some mad people had pitched up tents along the Mall a week in advance to get the best spot as the gold carriage rolled by, I mean what do they do for a week? I had to get my hat from the tailors in Catherine Street before getting the bus, which they cancelled the first one anyway; damn Reds are a bloody pain in the ass!  I got up to my parents as quickly as possible, I missed the parade but I watched the king and Camilla ( Queen consort ) get crowned.  Those crowns must be heavy, and the gold coach dates from George the 3rds reign.  It takes six horses to pull it and it wobbles from side to side as it moves; the queen said once it made her feel seasick.    This is a historic moment, some people I've met say Charles won't be king for long as he's in his 70's now; my neighbor recons the monarchy will be gone in 2...

Mum rang me up at 7.00am  as dad had a reaction to the Covid jab he received on Friday. About 4am he was sick and his breathing was bad, so she rang for an ambulance. I was very worried, he texted me Friday afternoon to say he'd had it.  I rang up A&E when I got to the Harnham coffee morning,  they didn't answer at first. He's now on the Lavastock ward, I told them he was autistic and had aspergers when they  picked up the phone. I worry about mum being on her own, so I text her a lot. Supposed to have a gardener come at 2pm, but I've postponed that. Glorious weather today,  there's an event in Elizabeth Gardens called people in the park. I met Ann-Marie at Debenhams, we took our own chairs. Mines heavy which is a pain,  also took camera; felt like a pack horse. Sat under a tree, the disabled toilets were locked yet again, they had port a loos; no good for people in wheelchairs! I found the WI tent, I might also join the Sarum group. Love to join the La...

On Friday I got the X7 bus to to Southampton, I was a bit worried because I was running a little bit late. I managed to get the bus just in time and sat upstairs. . It's quite a pleasant ride, we went through Alderbury and Whiteparish. In Totten there's lots of union jack flags along the street and round the traffic island, why can't Salisbury do that? I went to CEX in the Marlands & found some more blu rays, I always find something thing in CEX. Just down the road is another shopping center called WestKey where IKEA is. Went there for lunch and used the plug to charge phone. The window overlooks the harbour where the cruise liners park up, there were three of them in today. One of them was the Queen Mary 2, I could identify the others. Lots of people are arriving for the coronation.  I got a cycle hat in Decathlon,  tried on cycling shorts bit they didn't feel right. St George's day in the market today, I finally made an effort and out on a blue waistcoat and trousers, armed with a brolly ( rain was predicted) I left the house in high hopes.  i felt a bit dubious about dressing up, but if a man can walk down the street in high heels and a mini skirt, then it isn't so bad.  he lives over the road from me and has a beard, his legs are in better shape then mine!  I got to admire him for his bravery at not carting what other people think. I met The Steam Henge Punks at the back of the Guild Hall and we sat by Reeve the bakers, my ear is still blocked which is a pain.  We watched a display of George and Johnaphone the jester, I'm proud to be part of the Steam Punks.  We sat in the Market Inn when the phone alarm went off, I had turned mine off but it started when I turned my phone back on again.  Dad says his didn't go off.  The government sent a test alarm to everyone's phone in case of an emergency ( in case we get nu...

Another star has joined the sky today. Barry Humphreys who played Dame Edna Everidge died, he was Australian.  He died of  complications from hip surgery, he was 89yrs    At Paul O'Gradys funeral there was a line of dogs including  Battersea, he loved his dogs and did a show called ' for the love of dogs '.   Went to the coffee morning at Harnham, I've gone deaf with wax in my right ear. I've been putting in Otex but it hasn't made much difference, apart from blocking it up more. I have to keep using a tissue to wipe away the oily gunk. Salisbury getting ready for the coronation. Thers a picnic in Liz Gardens,  but I'm not going on my own.

Storm Noah hit the UK midweek, I was waiting at the bus stop about 9.30pm at the Top of Festival Avenue. The wind roared round the frame and the rain! Metoffice said to expect 70mph, they weren't wrong.  Aunt Joan is staying with us, nice for mum to have company,  I've just started cycling again but I get very hot and sweaty. Dad's birthday was on the 9th, so I got him a cake from M&S; he's 81 now; where have all the years gone?  I met Wiltshire CIL at Arendals in Cathedral Close,  former home of prime minister Edward Heath. He left the house to the nation in his will, I'm going to write a will.  I'm doing it with Samson and Coward, their offices are in New Street. I got there & thought the place was shut, then Mary came in her car. I get very angry with myself, if things go wrong a lot for me sometimes.  I went to the hospital gym for a meeting this afternoon, I must do something about my weight, I've tried Five Rivers Leisure centre but the hospital gym feels better.  The only thing I don't like is that the showers are too close to the toilets and one of them smells which is a bit off putting, so I'll try the pool changing room showers. Five Rivers isn't on a bus route, the nearest stop is at Devizes Road by Hastings Court flats.  Then you have to walk all the way down Ashley Road and over a bridge.  Where as the R1 stops across the road from the hospital leisure centre. There's a huge overhaul of the Metropolitan police in the UK, looks like a lot of them have been doing bad things. it's said that hundreds could be kicked out the force.
