Mum got her vaccination letter Friday, so I booked her appointment on the phone. What a nightmare, the woman on the other end spoke far too fast. Booked it for Sunday ( today ) at City hall, the woman kept calling Salisbury, 'Sowersbury'.  Mum says some of the American visitors so that. I went to get the paper for mum in the morning, got as far as the steps and had to go back as I'd forgotten my face shield; stupid virus 😡. I went up Southampton Road after lunch, sky was drizzly but could have been worse. I got annoyed with two teenaged boys coming up from Gainsborough Close towards Festival Avenue. One of them coughed in my direction, I hope I haven't caught anything! There was a queue outside the Range, it was freezing. I got two coconut halves and some bird feed. B and M didn't have much, although I am tempted to get those new Lenor scent busters you throw in the washing machine drum. Home bargains are better for bird food etc. Went to the city hall today for mu...

There was a lot of military aircraft going over last night, dunno what was going on; had a weird dream about cattle for some reason.  Mum caugh isn't too bad today which is good, she was doing some shredding; I thought it was the neighbours using a drill at first.  Tried ringing dad's ward this morning but the nurse was on her break so I had to ring back within an hour.  I get a load of Mozart blasting away when I'm waiting, at least it's the classical version I wish they would play the whole song instead of just the opening intro. Boris fish face gave a briefing on Tuesday saying he was deeply sorry for all the lives lost, we haven't heard fuck from the Chinese government and I blame them because it was them that caused all this shit.  Some people may disagree with me but they now have avian flue coming from china and I will never buy anything from China now, not ever! Boris was repeatedly hesitant about taking the country into lockdown - delays of a few days...

I dropped off some stuff at the PALES office yesterday, mum had a cough last night which is bloody worrying; although we are not showing symptoms. I rang Craig at Serve On who dropped off some testing kits, we haven't used them yet as I have to rub the back of the throat and nose which is a bit uncomfortable.  I don't like to stay up in the hospital longer than I have to, bit bloody cold up there.  Mums caugh aren't too bad this morning thankfully.  I heard her coughing during the night, all sorts go through my head when that happens. The government are saying schools might not open until after Easter which will piss parents and teachers off.  People have been advised not to book oversea's holidays which mean there will be hardly any room for me possibly to go anywhere in the UK.  There were long lines of people waiting on their return at Heathrow airport, they have to quarantine for 10 days and pay their hotel bills.  there is a new vaccine out called Made...

A l ot has happened since I last wrote. Mum rang me up last Wednesday morning to say dad had fallen out of bed about 11.15 pm, and she wasn't strong enough to lift him. So she called the 111 services who were completely useless as she couldn't hear the options. Rang 999 in the end, the first ambulance didn't come, but another came at 8 am. It was raining when they took him to A&E. I came over to mums and rang A&E. They've transferred him to the Redlynce ward. I rang up on Friday to see how he was. Someone picked up the phone and put it down on me, which I wasn't very happy about. I tried the switchboard who tried another line. I got through to a foreign-sounding nurse, I asked how he was. She didn't know who he was and said she couldn't help me. I said well can I speak to someone who does know, and she said, no it was only her I could speak to! She eventually did find his details. I was told he was on oxygen with low blood pressure. I said he's ...

Apologies for the delay in writing further, sometimes I don't have time to go near my PC; I sometimes use my phone but it's so awkward that the screen turns off or it mishears me and types rubbish. A urine infection started on Thursday, I didn't take much notice hoping it was nothing but it flared up on Friday when I was at Southampton Road going to B and M, so I had to dart into the Range toilets.  Bot is so bad now because I have been drinking gallons of Cranberry juice and water but I have still made a Dr's appointment to see if it's gone.  I have to drop a sample bottle off and ring by 4 pm to get the results, taking the piss really; har har! Stayed Sunday night to Monday at parents, just as well I did.  Dad had a bad night Saturday, mum seemed a bit teary I hate it when that happens.  The nurse came because his tube got blocked again, it's always the nighttime one.  Had to help him get out of the chair at bedtime, then I had a bad night after that. T...

I have started watching Enterprise because Star trek TNG has finished for the season.  I'm enjoying the program Enterprise was the first-star ship to use the transporter and the new warp engine by  Zefram Cochrane  in 2063, the fastest it went then was warp 5, in TNG ( The next generation ) it can go as fast as 9.   Enterprise is set 100 years from now and this could happen in the future so we shouldn't laugh.  Years ago I would have thought my phone to be futuristic, but I take it for granted now.  Enterprise was also wary about the transporter, but they used it to rescue captain Archer. Richard Branson's mother sadly died of covid a day before she was meant to have the vaccine they are saying that Salisbury cathedral may be used as a vaccine centre.  Restrictions have got tougher because of the stupid flouters, I am now wearing a mask even when I go into the supermarkets, as I don't want to catch anything.  Tesco now has security on the doo...

It's -2 out there today, my flat gets cold when the heating goes off at 12.30, I'd like to override it but I'm worried about messing it up. I visited parents yesterday, we keep meaning to look at our old photo albums, we have photos of people no longer alive. Like gran, I miss her very much and I'll never forget her until we meet again.  I'll probably die on my own, I'd hate to die in a hospital. Gran died at home one sunny June afternoon in 1980. She wasn't discovered until the evening, by Mrs Dyer who saw her curtains hadn't been drawn. Mrs Dyer is now gone, I used to stay with her for the afternoon while mum had hospital appointments, and if gran was away. I'm going to write about when I went to Teignmouth on another page. This was the highlight of our year, I miss the seaside; what with this damned virus lurking about.

It was my son's birthday yesterday, he was meant to go back to school yesterday but he can't now due to another lockdown.  Every day more and more reports are coming in of people catching the virus, my friend Darren has now become infected, I'm scared stiff; if he can catch it so can we!  He caught it a couple of days before Christmas! There are huge waiting ambulances queuing at the hospital full of the sick, it's horrible! Vaccinations are happening but it's a slow process, God helps us all.

I've often read books about the black death and the Spanish flu, but never once in my lifetime did I ever think that I'd be living through an epidemic myself. I watched Casualty last night. This is a hospital drama the government hate as it shows the truth which they tried to hide. Sadly coronavirus killed the receptionist and the poor staff had no time to grieve, as a bad RTA came in.  It Angers me when assholes say the virus is a hoax! It's not! I went to Tesco with my parents, not very busy; everyone's frightened of this new strain. I suppose the music playing helped calm people's nerves, had my face shield on as I daren't take chances. My friend Darren Cottrell has tested positive for the virus. I used to know him at school, said he caught it a couple of days before Christmas. He'll be in for it as he's diabetic, poor thing. Some idiots are coming from tier 4 weeks from of Southampton to do shopping in Salisbury. I've heard police barriers have b...

How will history see us in 100, maybe 200 years? Will our generation be known as the Covid-19 era? The top shop has closed its flagship for good in London, ours will be next.  Alan Sugar's brother and sister have died of Coronavirus, how awful for him 🙁 Hospitals are so busy that ambulances are parked nose to nose outside the hospitals.  people are afraid to step out of theire front doors, there are fears the NHS could be overwhelmed again.   Watched paint your wagon wheel which is a brilliant movie, I didn't get the Rio Grande with John Wayne in. I watched next door as they lit a bonfire, I recognised Jane as she is part of the Fisherton history group. Occasionally the sky lit up with flashes, possibly from the Sarum estate area. I think there was a bonfire along Gainsborough Close, as I could see the smoke plumes. Someone on Tournament road let off fireworks, a lot were coming over the houses from the Devises road area. The party went on until 2.30 am! There was a...
