I had constipation last night so I took one pill before bedtime, this morning I had a stomach ache as my guts were clenching, I came down to breakfast but went up again to try and use the toilet.  The pill did work but it was tough as I had a hypo which didn't help, I honestly thought the water wouldn't affect me in Teignmouth. I got the no 22 bus to Torquay, I sat in the sunshine on the bus and thought about the past.  When I was a child coming here with my parents, things were different then.  Abba was in the charts so were the Carpenters and life seemed so exciting, but that's all gone now.  The sun shone like diamonds on the water, spoke to a woman who moved down here from Ringwood.  She was waiting for her mum, who used to work for the council; I'd love to live in Teignmouth. Took three-quarters of an hour to get to Torquey, there are two villages Babbacombe and St Mary Church we passed through.  The no 12 bus for Brixham was already in, I notic...

Another sunny seagull-sounding day.  I went to Sheldon after posting 2 more DVDs, it started to drizzle while I was walking along the seafront so I went back and fetched a brolly.  the Met office has all this technology, yet they still get the damned weather wrong! I stopped at an antique shop which has a few cuckoo clocks and also a Navy Colt which had engravings on the barrel.  It's more of a showman's weapon than used in battle, there was a rifle which the lady said wasn't real, but I think it was. I picked up the spirit of a man who used to live there during the 2nd world war, Teignmouth would have been a very different place then.  He kept talking about bombings, Teignmouth was badly bombed during the war because of the Morgen dockyards. I got the ferry to Sheldon, which is the oldest ferry in the UK, the ferry started in the 1500s, but I don't think the boat I went in is that old!  I sat next to a man who had a huge Sheltie dog, It is £2 each way to cross ...

I went to Dartmouth today and got a bus to Paignton from outside the diner.  We were a bit late as someone's caravan had unhitched from their car and jackknifed. I was told that we would get there by 10.45 but it was 11.00 by the time we got to Torquay harbour because too many people boarded the bus at Marychurch.  It's a disaster waiting to happen, the driver only had to slam on the break and everyone will go flying. Got to Paighton, the normal trains are on strike today so I queued up to get a ticket to Dartmouth, the train had just pulled in and we left at 11.15.  I was in carriage B and we passed some very spectacular scenery including Goodrington Sands, which is like a bucket and spade type place. Got the ferry to Dartmouth and the Greenaway ferry which takes about 30 mins to get to Greenaway house.  There's a courtesy car which goes up to the house as it's a windy road to walk, because of the time I went to the house first, the upstairs was open this year....

Mum said she saw sheet lightning this morning, I heard a few rumbles in the clouds which was eerie.  I went to paignton zoo today, I caught the 22 bus from outside the diner.  I had to change at Torquay as the bus went out of service, there are a lot of people down from the northern parts on holiday in Torquay.  We stopped at Paignton itself, I heard the steam train whistle which must have been very familiar before the desisil came along.  The bus parks about ten minutes walk from the zoo and it's a short walk, there used to be a Sainsbury's just over the road which is now a Morrisons.  Next time I'm going to bring a packed lunch as the price of the food was a real expensive rip off, I had a chicken burger and a can of Fanta which came to £12!  I got chatting to a woman who agreed that it was very expensive.   The enclosures are being changed up to Modern standards, most of the animals were hiding through I got to see a few storks, Flamingo...

It must have been raining during the night as the pavements were wet, the gulls were very noisy last night.  Breakfast was at 8am and I love all the candles that barbara has.  There's a man down from Swindon who stays for quite a while, wish I could. I got a bus to Newton Abbot and went to look for my favourite cafe which is called the Pharmacy, they have medicine bottles on display in glass bainets which is very interesting.  I managed to find the CEX shop which is next door to Iceland, I posted two of them to my parents in Torquay.   I got the bus to Torquay, its a bit more art deco in Torquay while Teignmouth has a lot of 18th century town houses.  I did find their CEX but I didn't find anything I would keep.  Union Street is one big long street with a lot of High street shops, the harbour was very busy as was the bus I caught where Debenhams used to be.  There was a long queue stretching along the pavement, Torquay now has a military an...

I got up at 8 am this morning as I had to get the 9.47 train to Exeter St Davids, that was the plan anyway.  I got two boxes of berry medleys from Tesco yesterday but only managed to eat one for breakfast, I gave the other to Dan along with some Greek yoghurt.  He is good and helps me carry buckets of my washing-up water to put in the garden as we are now officially in a drought, the news says it could last until next year. I went to a craft thing at big Tesco, I could have done the same thing if Facebook had alerted me it was going on, they are a pain and hide important posts.  I was a bit annoyed, the Carer's craft store was there so were Swan and The Talking Place.  It was very hot and soon the sun will swing round onto the tables, luckily they finished at 2 pm. I went to Bournemouth on Saturday to escape the heat, I think many other people had the same idea.  It was like a sauna on the bus.  The driver has air conditioning but there's none for the passe...

The heatwave has returned again, I'm glad I don't live in London as it's 35d there! I had the fans on last night, it was 23 all  night long outside.  I didn't go for the health walk this morning, I'd be surprised if anyone turned up this morning.  They were suppossed to meet at Elizabeth gardens and walk to Harnham village. Last Thursday they did a walk in Laverstock village, but I didn't go as I went to Weymouth instead.  I got a later train and had to go to platform 2 and change at Southampton central, another family were on their way to Swanage so we went along to the lift to the other side to get the train coming in from London Waterloo.  I have to sit in the first five carriages as the cars separate at Bournemouth, I took my French kinnitting thing.  Its blue silk yarn which I hope to give to the crafty Girls in Salisbury, the annoying thing is that it twists and gets knotted which is a pain.  My mum used to visit Weymouth with gran and grandad, a...
