I'm now back from Newquay and I'm missing it, I love the seaside and I hope to move to South Devon one day. I went to Falmouth which was an experience.  I went to Dolly's tearoom and I had a tea cake, I love all the vintage china they use.  they get donated the china and I took a sip of my tea out of my cup and also most spat it out!  The cup they had served it in was a Royal Albert tea cup!  Just the plate and the cup are worth £400, they have the whole service which is worth £4,000!!  I also noticed a Royal Dalton milk jug in the shape of a horse with some flowers in it, their bathroom is nice with blue seats and a wash jug and bowl on a stand. I visited the maritime museum, they have a display of tattooed arms and deep-sea monsters, I got in free as my ticket ran out in September when I last came.   I went to Heligan Gardens which was brilliant, I had to change at St Austel railway station to get the bus which also stops at Mevagissey and Fowey, lot...

Tuesday 17th May 2022.

I went to Fistral beach on Sunday, it was a glorious sunny morning.  Rick Steines cafe was closed so I went down the steps to the cafe below, I think this is the one Jackie goes to.  I ordered a latte and rang dad up, he said it was gray and dreary.  I'm not looking forward to going back to Salisbury at all, especially when the train goes through Teignmouth and everyone's having fun on the beach and I can't join in. I went for a walk round the nature trail, it was a bit breezy, lots of sparrows hopping about amongst the bushes; then I felt a spot of rain.  I went to a cafe which displays framed arty pictures, its over the road from the hill that goes down to the harbour.  They have pillows on the seats and their creams tea's are yummy, probably fattening too. Went back up towards the nature trail after lunch, I heard the lifeboat siren go off so I stood overlooking the harbour.  Someone said it was someone at Lusty Glaze in trouble, they were stood d...

I was going to Perranporth today, but Jackie told me the gay pride festival was being held in Killigrew gardens. I've always supported pride, ours is in June at Elizabeth gardens. Bit breezy so I went along the old tram track. I met some very nice people who were doing a mental health stand, there was also a stage where music played. I always feel the odd one out, so I felt like I was intruding when I was told I could join the parade. My autism makes me feel like I don't belong, and my hips have also been playing up.  I did walk with the parade, met 2 security people, a green bus followed us and a car playing loud music. There was a lady in a yellow dress who was very pretty, some of my friends are transgender. A lot of dogs about, one had glitter on her tail. I had lunch in Bunters, it's not like it was. The new owners are very nice, Sadie's photos are still up. Used to go in there with my parents, and then we'd visit the arcade after. Those days are long gone now,...

Bit of a grey start, I always put my hand out of the window to see how breezy it is. The couple from Southend in London have gone home today, they did the Lost Gardens of Heligan on the bus which is what I'd like to do  I went to the new wave church this morning, had a latte. Seems like a nice church, they used to have a glow in the dark crucifix but it's gone now replaced by a large wooden one in the garden. I caught the no 24 bus to Charleston, never been before so I thought it would make a change. Took an hour to get to St Austell, and went through lots of villages. I found the shipwreck museum down the road. It's got s interesting exhibition of Frank Hurley's photos of the 1910 expedition to Antarctica. Frank Hurley was Shackleton's photographer, I like photography but I don't do cold situations. It was very interesting, there were also bits from the Lusitania, Mary Rose and Titanic. I was a bit stressed as Time was getting on, this is only a fraction from t...

I opened the curtains this morning and saw a strange bird flying over from the direction of the zoo, it was black with a white underbelly and I'm sure it wasn't a magpie.  Some starlings have nested above a door just down the road, I think they are now gone, but I could see them sticking their heads out waiting for food. Went to Terence gardens on Sunday, the weather was sunny Terence reminds me of Victoria Park.   I thought I would try Trice House on Monday, it's a National Trust property it's just outside Newquay.  The taxi was about £10, I waited on a chair inside Jackie's porch until It came.  The house is from the 16th century and was owned by the Arendelle family who was friends of King Henry 8th.  It's an impressive house with even more impressive gardens, I sat in the meadow where they have carved out a maze.  I could have sat there all day it was that peaceful.  I heard the kiddie's steam railway in the distance, also sometimes I c...

I certainly got to Newquay without an amazing hitch, the weather is glorious with fields of gold which I call grape seed as I hate the name rapeseed.  I changed at Exeter St Davids and was asked to wait in a waiting room, there was a lady nearby who was visiting Dawlish for the day.  The train goes through Dawlish and Teignmouth and the sea was so blue today, it's hard coming back as I so want to get off at Newton Abbot to go to Teignmouth.  I want to arrange my ticket for one year so that I can get off and stay the weekend in Teignmouth, I am coming back in August anyway which will be good. Had vegetarian pasta bake for lunch, I haven't seen any Ukrainian flags up yet around here apart from one thatched cottage.  I heard on the news that all women in Iran must wear face masks or be arrested, sod that and fight against it.  Men (not all) are a pain in the ass! Getting a bit chilly out there so I might put on trousers before my evening walk.  See what...

Hi I haven't much time to write as my cousin had been visiting, what a pain that was.  I don't mind me aunt Joan visiting, but my cousin I wish would sling his hook.  The reason being is he's too fond of telling other people what to do and is too controlling which I hate.  They both came down on April 23rd because Alan couldn't get the Easter break because he'd booked too late, never asks but invites himself down. I did the hoovering and then he called. No how are you etc, just ' your in then, usually your out '  Did the shopping in Tesco no offer to put anything towards it.  rained heavily that night, will do the plants good I hope. On the Sunday we went to the St George fair in the market square, I saw a friend of mine called Tony so I stopped to talk to him and Alan being Alan, got very stroppy shouting at me to come on.  He can bugger off because I have a right to speak to my friends!  I also saw Caroline the mayor and her husband Tom, ...
